MRS. JENNA SAGAN
Mrs. Jenna Sagan has been working as an educator in the greater Los Angeles area for the past seven years. During this time, she has worked in private Jewish Day Schools, public schools, synagogues, and charter schools. She has also worked for the Orange County Department of Education in their Title I Program, as a tutor on a one-on-one basis. This is her second year at the Hebrew Academy.
Mrs. Sagan grew up in Huntington Beach, where she attended the Academy of the Performing Arts at Huntington Beach High School. Following High School, she attended the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, where her areas of focus included education and acting. Mrs. Sagan completed her graduate education at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion’s Rhea Hirsch School of Education. She received her Judaic Studies Certification and a General Studies California State Teaching Credential for Kindergarten-8th Grade in 2009.
Mrs. Sagan understands that each student is unique, and as such, is sensitive to the individual needs of each student. She strives to create an learning environment in which a variety of hands-on, experiential educational strategies are used to effectively engage students in study and discussion. She utilizes multiple modalities to further academic progress, including incorporating movement and visual aids to support learning.
In addition to her educational experience in the classroom, Mrs. Sagan has also worked with individuals with learning and developmental disabilities, such as: ADD, ADHD, Aspergers, autism, and Down syndrome. She strongly believes that every child, with the proper support, has the ability to learn and succeed.
When Mrs. Sagan is not teaching, she enjoys traveling, watching the latest movies, swimming, and spending time with her wonderful husband and their dog, Hobbes.
She looks forward to being a partner in your child’s education!
